The light panel is made from electro-luminescent material and is thin enough to be folded and formed to attach to diiferent instruments like guitars, pianos or drums. SplashPlay will offer light panels for other instruments as part of future product releases but will initially offer light panels for acoustic guitars only, covering the first five frets.
Segments of the light panel are turned on and off from song information stored in the SplashPod. By placing your fingers over the
lit segments you are learning the basics of music theory and chord formations in a much more efficient manner. No more expensive tutorage
or painstaking tablature from guitar books, just attach and play. This unique design feature means you can even learn your favourite songs without an instrument. Place the panel in your hand and you can practise finger exercises anywhere, anytime.
(NB: Electro-luminescence is the conversion of electrical energy into light by activating a phosphor layer with an alternating current. A layer of light emitting phosphor is printed between two very thin electrodes where one
is opaque and the other is transparent, allowing light to escape. When AC current is applied, the phosphor rapidly charges
and discharges, resulting in the emission of light.) |
